Out of the Pits
would like to express our deepest thanks to the Cuttler Family
for their generous
donation in memory of Eric Cuttler.

Thank you for considering making a donation to Out of the Pits. All members of our organization are volunteers, and all of your money goes to saving the dogs. Your donations pay for their food, housing, and veterinary care. Your contribution is fully tax deductible; our IRS authorization number is 16-1560721.
Right now, we are able to save only a small percentage of the abandoned and abused Pit Bulls that we are asked to accept into our program everyday. Many must turned away only because we lack sufficient funding. Your contribution will help save a dog's life.

Volunteer for Out of
the Pits!
If you cannot afford to make a donation,
please consider volunteering! Besides needing food, shelter and veterinary care, our dogs need PEOPLE! Pit Bulls are very people oriented and our dogs living in kennels are always in need of love and attention, walks and training. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our volunteer coordinator,
Sheryl
at
volunteer@outofthepits.org.

Any amount donated is deeply appreciated.
If you have questions about contributing, please contact

This cool guy needs your
help. While playing recently, Bandit slipped a few disks in his back - - and
within 24 hours he was paralyzed in his hind end. His people have invested
many thousands of dollars into extensive spinal surgery for the silly man.
We are working hard to raise the funds to
get bandit a rehabilitation package that will include heat therapy, massage,
electrical stimulation, hydrotherapy, range of motion, and much more. Anything you can give to help support the cost of the rehab
needed to help this goofy boy reach his goal to walk again is much
appreciated.

And Out of the Pits (with generous support from Art for Animals and Merle Borenstein) has provided him an Eddie's Wheels cart to get him moving.
Seeing the bully smile spread across Bandit's face as he took his first
steps in the cart was priceless. But he still needs lots of rehab before he
will have a chance to walk unassisted again. |

The owners of
the Alexandra Inn have named one of their rooms after their
two Pit Bulls Bella and Guapo who were adopted from Out of
the Pits. They have graciously donated 10% of the
reoccurring room revenue to us!
"Bella
& Guapo. Bella is a gorgeous and extremely well behaved 6
year old APBT who loves attention. Guapo, also an APBT, was
the epitome of a loyal working dog: smart , high energy and
obedient. He had to be put down however on May 2010 due to
bone cancer. He was only 4 years old. It is one of the
hardest things we've had to do. Both of them came to us when
they were just months of age and we support the rescue
shelter that brought them to our lives."

Annie Lee Vankleeck
One of our best volunteers is Annie Lee Vankleeck of
Ulster County, NY, age 6. Annie won the American Humane
Society's "Be Kind to Animals Week" Award
by gathering an enormous amount of blankets from her
community and by requesting donations in lieu of
birthday presents for Out of the Pits' dogs.

This section of the Out of the Pits donations
page is dedicated to Ryan Burris, a generous, loving, and
compassionate young man whose life was taken tragically in a
fire in March 2011. Ryan was
best described as marching to the beat of his own drum. He
lived for the moment and always knew how to put a smile on
anyone's face. He always had love for pit bulls and promised
everyone he would have one at some point in his life. Ryan
was a loving soul, cared about everyone and helped those in
need, including Out of the Pits. Because his life was cut
short at the young age of 28 Ryan's family asked Out of the
Pits to accept donations in Ryan's memory. The funds
generously donated in Ryan's name will help Out of the Pits
rescue many pit bulls whose lives would otherwise be cut
short. If you would like to donate to Out of the Pits in
memory of Ryan Burris please visit us at one of our many
events, mail checks to Out of the Pits, Inc., PO Box 2311,
Albany, NY 12220 or via PayPal by donate on the left side of
this page. |

Gracie's update,
thanks to your donations:
Gracie is doing
very well! She still has a murmur (which will never go
away), however, Dr. Wey was very pleased with the outcome of
the surgery. His prognosis after the surgery was that
Gracie's condition should improve greatly compared to how
she was before the surgery. We'll be going back one more
time for a check-up on the progress, so hopefully everything
will continue to be positive.
Gracie is
acting like any other 12 month old puppy. She is a very
happy and lovable girl with a very welcoming personality.
She runs and plays with every dog she meets, and she is a
true natural with my two boys. If you watched Gracie run in
our fields you'd never know she had a heart condition.
Her exercise
tolerance is GREAT! She's the snapping tail that greets us
when we come home, and she's the head that looks out the
window as we leave.
I can't thank
the volunteers at OOTP enough! The emails and calls from
staff members were a large part of the reason we decided to
go through with this surgery. My wife and I were prepared to
give Gracie the best life possible with our children for as
long as she stayed healthy.
With the help
of OOTP and the many donations from concerned friends and
supporters, we decided to go through with the procedure.
Now, we hope to watch Gracie grow and live a happy and
healthy life with our family.
Sincerely, The
Waldenmaier Family
