Nina was
adopted! |
|
|
|
|

 |
We adopted Nina through your organization. Roland
and I wanted to share some pictures with you of
Nina, our puppy! She is doing great! She has
mastered sit, lay down, stay, and sleep's in her own
bed at night in the bedroom with us and our cat. She
is co-existing with our cat, but is finally getting
the point that she is not her playmate! She is also
getting along very well with new people and my
parents' dog. So overall we are thoroughly enjoying
her and are very happy to have her as a part of our
little family!

Marley was
adopted! |

|

We adopted
Marley from OOTP in the Summer of 2008, as a
four-or-five month old pup. A year-and-a half later, she
has grown from an unloved and abandoned city dog into a
smart, energetic, effervescent, obedient, well-adjusted,
and much-loved country dog (pictured here in a less
energetic moment).
Her
favorite outdoor activity is playing Frisbee – she can
jump, do a ¾ twist in mid-air, & catch the Frisbee on
the fly. She can also hop over a 4-foot high chain link
fence without a running start (we did learn that the
hard way). She shares our small cabin with her
inseparable best friend – our old Siberian Husky – and
three cats. Marley is truly an APBT breed ambassador –
loving and loved by everyone she meets!

Corky was
adopted! |
|
|
|
|

|
|
 |
|
Corky was 4
months old when we brought her home. (Her 2nd birthday
was November 3rd.)
She was
recuperating with foster parents Dorthy and Bruce from a
broken leg which was the result of a "questionable" fall
down stairs. She also had a badly broken tail, which
resulted in the name Corky, as it now looks like a
corkscrew. Her spirit soars, and she is the true love of
our American Bulldog Brass. Corky adores him as well,
and is a wonderful friend to him, and makes sure we
always know when he wants or needs something.
She's smart
as can be, and her heart is great, as she loves
everything and everyone (she's a wiggler). She runs like
the wind, with Brass far behind, without any sign of a
limp. We spend a lot of time on the lake where we live,
and she enjoys our boat and is a wonderful swimmer. We
also enjoy camping, and everyone comes along.
I don't
think our family could do without her. Thank you Out of
the Pits for letting her become ours!!

Hemi was
adopted! |

We have
noticed that Hemi has this unique ability to get up on
your lap in seconds...you almost don't even know its
happening till its to late and you have been HEMIFIED...
Yep we
created our own word to describe it. Its so incredibly
funny, he is truly a lap dog, and it's quite all right.
Here's a
picture of a Hemification. |

Bruno was
adopted! |

I can stop
looking…
I’ve found
the perfect man.
I fostered
Bruno for four months before I decided to adopt him. It
was both a hard and an easy decision to make. After one
minute I wanted to keep him, but because I already had
three dogs of my own (and two cats) I was hesitant to
take on the responsibility of another dog.
Everywhere
we go, he stops traffic and people ask me questions
about him and the breed. This is a wonderful opportunity
for me to educate people about Pit Bulls. He is an
amazing Breed Ambassador, and one of the main reasons I
decided to make him part of my family. Soon he will have
his CGC and his Therapy Dog Title and we will visit many
places together. Having a dog with such a great
temperament coupled with his striking looks and imposing
size makes him ideal for teaching people about the true
nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Besides
being a great Breed Ambassador, Bruno is a silly,
loveable, clown of a dog. To watch him run is like
watching pure joy in motion- his entire backside and
hind legs rear up, like a bucking horse. He uses his
paws to push tennis balls around and can entertain
himself for hours. He squeals with delight when he knows
he’s going to get his treat filled Kong. He gives sweet
and gentle hugs and loves to lick my neck. He follows me
everywhere, with a “what cha doin?” look in his eyes.
When he’s playing with my other dogs, he lays down low
and stalks them like a cat, then pounces on them when
they come near. He chases butterflies and kisses my old
dog’s butt. He has big fat paws and soulful eyes.
A lot
of people say he got lucky to have been adopted by me,
but really, I am the lucky one.
