Spay-Neuter Snippets
Many of our
applicants have told us about how your pit bull came into
your life - How you saw a dog at the shelter, and just
“knew”. Or how your son or daughter went away to college,
and left you home with a wiggly blockhead...
We also heard stories
of how people you knew could no longer afford to care for
their pit bull. Or how you learned that a dog was being
neglected – tied in a yard, or left without food - Or even
how one of these amazing bullies was being abused at the
hands of another person.
Regardless of the
specifics, you were there when, for some of you, the
responsibility of a dog was the last thing on your agenda -
or in your budget. But you did it because you knew it was
the right thing to do.
These are your stories…

I just wanted to let you know
that Mia had her spay surgery yesterday. She did
very well, is home now and resting.
I want to thank you, and let you know that the
entire staff at Albany County Vet was amazing
and wonderful to me and they especially loved
Mia. They took absolutely excellent care of her.
As soon as I can I will be forwarding you a
donation in Mia's name.
Again,
Thank you so much.

Dear Out of the
Pits,
I just sent in my
application for Jada. This would really help me
out, I'm a single mother and love my pit bull
and know its only best for her to get her spayed
but I don't have the money to get the procedure
done.
I think what your
organization does is amazing, I'm a huge pro pit
bull lover and want the change everyone's
perspective of this amazing breed. Hope to hear
from you soon!
Those two girls are
my world!
This is going to
help us out tremendously!
Thanks, Jorden |

Pits,
Thank you very much
for everything. Sasha got her shots and was
spayed yesterday and is doing fine.
I am very happy
with your program and knowing that I wont have
to deal with puppies I cant afford to keep.
Thank you again for
your help,

I just wanted to say thank you
again.
I am so grateful for the
fix-a-bull program.
As you know we
adopted Mia a year and a half old pit bull from
a family who was no longer able to care for her.
Being broke grad students we were having trouble
coming up with the four hundred dollars our
veterinarian quoted us to spay Mia.
Thanks to your program Mia got
her surgery done free of charge. She is
doing wonderful and is a very happy dog. If
there is anything we can do to give back please
let me know.

Dear Out of the
Pits,
This is Roxy. She's Awesome!
She is, what we
feel, a rescue from certain death at the hands
of the pound or, at best, poor living
conditions. A friend of my daughter had the dog
for 10 months and due to sudden circumstances,
he was unable to get her taken care of found
that he could not keep her any longer.
He gave Roxy to
another who also found that she could not keep
her and was planning to give her to the pound. I
became aware of this and decided that Roxy,
being only 10 months old was not given a fair
enough chance at life. I retrieved her
with great haste and brought her home.
