March of
2010
Sounds of
cheering and barking filled the air as people gathered
outside X’s to O’s Vegan Bakery at noon on Saturday,
March 27th, for a cupcake eating contest and pit bull
kissing booth to raise money and awareness for Out of
the Pits.

November of
2009
We were
called upon by a landlord whose rental property was
being foreclosed on and whose tenants had multiple
pit bulls. He wanted to know if we could
possibly take a few of the dogs into our rescue.
Once at the house it was apparent that they had more
than a few dogs. All in all there were 11
adult pit bulls, 2 poodles and 17 pit bull puppies (a
total from 3 separate litters). After evaluating
the dogs, it was determined that we could take 2 of the
adults and all of the 17 puppies into our adoption
program. It taxed our foster homes to the max but we
made it work. And just 2 months later all but one
of the dogs have been placed into wonderful, loving
forever homes. In addition, we spayed and neutered the
dogs that we were not able to take into the program.
